Hotel Friends is a small, family-run hotel 500 metres from the Gondola — a ten-minute walk from the centre of Bansko and from the old quarter with its taverns. It is an easy walk even in ski boots, and in the evening you can reach the bars and restaurants on foot.

The hotel has double rooms, studios and apartments. Every unit has twin beds, a television, a telephone, wireless internet, a wardrobe, a desk, a minibar and a bathroom with a shower cabin. The windows and doors are sound-insulated — something you notice in a hotel ten minutes from Bansko’s nightlife.

What the hotel offers

Guests have the use of a relax zone with a 7 by 2 metre jacuzzi, a steam bath and a sauna, a traditional tavern with a fireplace, an Irish-style lobby bar with a fireplace for winter and a terrace for summer, and a restaurant serving Bulgarian cuisine.

On the practical side: wireless internet throughout the hotel, a ski storage room for your own equipment, laundry, car hire and a children’s corner. We also welcome pets up to 3 kg, by prior arrangement.

The building is small and has no lift. If you would prefer a lower floor, tell us when you book and we will arrange it subject to availability.

Frequently asked questions

How far is the hotel from the Gondola?
Hotel Friends is 500 metres from the Gondola base station — about a ten-minute walk, even in ski boots. The centre of Bansko is the same distance away.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 15:00 and rooms are vacated by 12:00. Where possible we offer a late check-out on the day of departure — just ask at reception.
What deposit is required when booking?
A reservation is finally confirmed with a deposit of 20% of its value. The remaining 80% is paid before check-in. Payment at the hotel is in Bulgarian leva, in cash or by card.
Until when can I cancel free of charge?
You may cancel free of charge up to 9 days before the arrival date. For the New Year period the deadline is 14 days. Later cancellations incur a charge.
Is use of the jacuzzi and sauna included?
Yes. The relax zone with its jacuzzi, steam bath and sauna is included in the room rate. It is open every day from 14:00 to 20:00.
Is there a lift in the hotel?
No. The building is small and has no lift. If you would prefer a lower floor, tell us when you book and we will arrange it subject to availability.
Do you accept pets?
Yes, up to 3 kg, with prior notice. Pets are accommodated on designated floors and are not permitted in the restaurant or the relax zone.
Do children stay free of charge?
One child up to 6.99 years of age stays free of charge on an extra bed. A baby cot is provided at no extra cost, subject to availability.
What does the room rate include?
Rates are in Bulgarian leva per unit and include the night, the chosen meal plan, use of the relax zone, 9% VAT, tourist tax and hotel insurance.
Is there somewhere to leave my skis?
Yes, the hotel has a ski storage room for your own equipment.
